A New Direction

Possible one of the more important pieces of my artwork, especially lately. I feel it definitely represents many things. First, it shows the new "feel" or "style" I've really come to aprpeciate in photography, and that is a very black and white/mono photo with a filmy/fine grain feel. Who knows how long it will last until the next one, but as of right now it's what I'm enjoying the most. Second, it shows that overall I'm heading in new directions and that there's probably a ton more I want to try. Especially since it's a winter shot, which is rare from me since I much prefer warmer weather for anything, shows I'm not being held back by what I used to be. Portraits will be more common this year for me, photojournalism is interesting me too, so is more abstract/conceptual photos too.

That's bascially it, and it was only after I edited this shot I realized how relevant it is to me and just how much it represents what I'm feeling right now, it's scary.
